Listen to Fatboy Slim’s ‘Weapon of Choice’ from Black-ish, Season 6, Episode 5, “Mad and Boujee” — so cool

English DJ, producer and big beat musician Fatboy Slim’s ‘Weapon of Choice‘ was played on the latest episode of the critically acclaimed ABC sitcom Black-ish this week — Black-ish Season 6, Episode 5, “Mad and Boujee” (the show aired on October 22nd, 2019).

The track was heard as we see Charlie and Dre playing golf with Premier Noir members.

Lead vocals on the song are by funk singer and bassist Bootsy Collins.

Fatboy Slim’s ‘Weapon of Choice‘ was originally released as a double A-side single in combination with the track ‘Star 69‘. Both songs are from the musician’s third studio album Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars.

Released in 2000, that album charted in 15 countries, including the United States and the UK.

It hit the #1 spot on the UK Independent Albums chart, and the Top 20 on five other international music charts. It was also certified Gold in Japan and Australia, and Platinum in the United Kingdom.

Later on, ‘Weapon of Choice‘ also got a standalone single release of its own, as well as a remix release nine years later.

And do watch the video too.

After all, that fabulous music video was directed by Spike Jonze and features actor Christopher Walken doing an amazingly cool dance to the song around an empty hotel lobby.

The video grabbed so many people’s attention, it was eventually nominated for and won a Grammy Award for Best Music Video in 2002.
