Listen to Five For Fighting’s ‘100 Years’ because life is finite and it will soon be over — Repeat Rotation Video

The Five for Fighting song ‘100 Years‘ is my Repeat Rotation Video today. Because it is a sad, melancholy, emotionally powerful piano-driven song that suits my mood. Sung as it is about how life is finite, only a hundred years or less, so we should all make the best of it.

100 Years‘ is from Five For Fighting’s 2003 third studio album The Battle For Everything. An album that spawned four singles with the first one, ‘100 Years‘ ending up being the most successful song Five For Fighting, aka Vladimir John Ondrasik III, has ever released.

In the U.S. alone, the song has sold over a million units since it was released, and has been certified both Gold and Platinum. But even if it hadn’t, it would still always be one of those songs that, the minute you hear it, touches something deep inside you.

Because it is written about something we can all relate to. The reality that, one day, the world will go on as always, but we will no longer be a part of it.

Watch Five For Fighting’s official music video for ‘100 Years’ as my Repeat Rotation Video today, and as always play it loud, with headphones and dancing.

Wonder at how that song sounds just as fresh as it did when when you first heard it — in my case, almost a generation ago — and then go out and make the best of what is left of your life. Whether you are 15, 30, 45 or older.

Because it is finite and, one day, it will all be over.
