Listen to Florence and the Machine’s ‘King’ from The Power, Ep. 5 as Tatiana gets the power

Florence and the Machine’s ‘King‘ was the track playing at the end of the latest episode of The Power last night as Tatiana is given the power — The Power, Episode 5, “Scarlet Minnow“.

The pop rock song continues playing as Zoia is also given the power, and then escapes captivity with the rest of the girls.

The track then ends the episode by playing over the end credits.

Florence and the Machine’s ‘King‘ was the lead single from the band’s fifth studio album Dance Fever. An album that came out last year on the Polydor record label.

While liked by the critics, ‘King‘ was surprisingly not an enormous hit for the British band only charting in four countries, with its highest placing at #11 on the New Zealand Hot Singles chart.

The Dance Fever album, however, was a huge hit for Florence and the Machine charting at #1 on three charts in the U.S. alone, as well as at #1 on the UK Albums chart and in Scotland.

The album ultimately charted in 24 countries, mostly in Europe, and was also eventually certified Silver in the UK.

Listen to Florence and the Machine’s ‘King‘ as heard at the ending of last night’s The Power on the band’s Dance Fever album, and in the song’s official music video.

The video was directed by American director Autumn de Wilde, and features lead singer Florence Welch as a ghostly monarch-type figure in purple robes.
