British indie folk rock singer Gabrielle Aplin‘s music appeared on yet another TV show this week. This time, it was Aplin’s ‘Skeleton‘ that was featured on the latest episode of ‘The Royals’ — (Season 2, Episode 7 — “Taint Not Thy Mind, nor Let Thy Soul Contrive Against Thy Mother”.
‘Skeleton‘ is from Gabrielle Aplin’s second studio album Light Up The Dark, which was released back in September. It’s an album that definitely sounds more mainstream than did her 2013 debut album and, to me, while the whole album is incredibly good, ‘Skeleton‘ is one of the strongest tracks on it.
An upbeat song that is also very edgy and much more rock oriented than the music on English Rain, her first album, ‘Skeleton‘ has great bass riffs and a cool piano, and it’s one of those tracks you’ll find yourself still humming days after you first heard it.
