Singer songwriter Grace VanderWaal’s song ‘Clay‘ was one of two of the young American’s songs that were featured on the new Netflix movie Net Gen this month.
‘Clay‘ was heard on Next Gen as Mai is walking home after being bullied by Greenwood and her robots. It is from the then 12-year-old’s debut five-track EP Perfectly Imperfect.
An EP that ended up being the biggest selling EP in the United States in 2016.
As for Grace VanderWaal, while she had been posting videos of her own songs on YouTube for a couple of years, it was her audition for Season 11 of America’s Got Talent that shot her to national and then international recognition, as both judges and the public fell in love with her raspy-voiced folk sound.
A recognition and a love that only increased drastically when she eventually won America’s Got Talent, a $1 million prize money and a recording contract.
VanderWaal, still only 14-years-old, has now performed in concerts and shows all over the United States, as well as overseas, and even toured with Imagine Dragons on their Evolve Tour.
She is also racking up an enormous number of views on her YouTube music videos.
Grace VanderWaal released her debut album Just The Beginning at the end of 2017. It debut at number 22 on the U.S. album chart, as well as charted in New Zealand, Australia, Belgium, Canada, the Netherlands and Japan.
