Listen to Harry Styles’ ‘Watermelon Sugar’ from The Resident, Season 4, Episode 13

British singer songwriter and former One Direction member Harry Styles’ ‘Watermelon Sugar‘ was one of the songs played on last night’s episode of The Resident on Fox — The Resident, Season 4, Episode 13, “Finding Family“.

The song was heard as Conrad and Nic are talking about the baby shower, and as Billie arrives with the party supplies.

Harry Styles’ ‘Watermelon Sugar‘ is from his sophomore studio album Fine Line, which was released via Columbia Records in 2019.

The upbeat pop song itself was released twice as a single — first as a promotional single for Fine Line in late November, 2019 and then as the fourth single from Styles’ new album in early 2020.

Watermelon Sugar‘ was critically acclaimed upon release, with most critics praising its fun sound and summer theme.

The track also came with a music video.

A pretty silly one, if truth be told, as it features nothing more than Harry Styles eating watermelon on a beach surrounded by various scantily clad women feeding him watermelon and kissing him.

Yep, silly.

Especially as Styles felt the need to add the explanation “this video is dedicated to touching” at the beginning of the song. A statement partially connected to Covid-19, and the inability for most of the world to touch each other, and partially to counteract any criticism Styles might have received for being surrounded by, and touching, a bevy of bikini-clad women.

Listen to Harry Styles’ ‘Watermelon Sugar‘ as heard on The Resident in that silly music video below (hey, you might like it!), and on the singer’s Fine Line album.

As for The Resident, the show’s fourth season is airing on Fox.
