Listen to Huey Lewis & The News’ ‘Workin’ for a Livin’ from South Park, Season 26, Ep. 5

American band Huey Lewis & The News’ ‘Workin’ for a Livin‘ was the song playing on last night’s South Park episode as Eric and his friends are starting a restaurant business — South Park, Season 26, Episode 5, “DiKimble’s Hot Dogs“.

Huey Lewis & The News’ ‘Workin’ for a Livin‘ was the fourth single from the pop rock band’s second album Picture This, which came out in January, 1982.

The song charted on two American charts.

Its highest placement was at #20 on the Mainstream Rock chart, as well as a #41 on the Billboard Hot 100.

The band’s lead singer Huey Lewis penned the song along with Chris Hayes.

Lewis said he wrote the track after he thought about all the many often menial jobs he used to have before his music career took off and he could make a living from it.

And what a living he eventually made from it, eh?

Listen to Huey Lewis & The News’ ‘Workin’ for a Livin‘ on the iconic band’s Picture This album, and in the song’s official music video.

Meanwhile, South Park‘s astounding 26 seasons don’t seem to be coming to an end yet. Hallelujah, eh?
