American indie rock band Imagine Dragons’ track ‘Friction‘ is the cool song you heard on the recent Mission: Impossible – Fallout trailer, and it is a song perfectly suited to the fast-paced scenes they chose to illustrate the new Tom Cruise movie. The sixth film in the Mission Impossible franchise.
‘Friction‘ is from Imagine Dragons’ second studio album Smoke + Mirrors but, surprisingly, was not one of the singles from the 1-million-units-plus hit selling album. An album that has been certified Gold in seven countries, and Platinum in the United States.
The song is, however, getting an amazing amount of streams and music video listens since it appeared in the movie trailer.
As for the film itself, although Tom Cruise has already started to do some early promotion for the upcoming movie starring himself, Rebecca Ferguson, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Alec Baldwin and Angela Bassett, Mission: Impossible – Fallout is not actually releasing in movie theaters worldwide until July 27th, 2018.
