Indie folk pop singer Ingrid Michaelson’s ‘Closer to Fine‘ was the song playing over the Tiny Beautiful Things Episode 1 end credits this week — Tiny Beautiful Things, Season 1, Episode 1, “Pilot“.
The song itself was released by Michaelson earlier this year as her cover of the original Indigo Girls song.
A track that came out in earlier 1989 as the lead single from the duo’s self-titled second studio album.
Michaelson’s version of ‘Closer to Fine’ was recorded specifically for Tiny Beautiful Things. A Hulu TV series the singer songwriter wrote the score for, and the first TV series she has scored.
The soundtrack of Tiny Beautiful Things, by the way, also includes another Michaelson song. This time an original track she wrote for the series called ‘Not Gone‘.
Tiny Beautiful Things stars Kathryn Hahn as Clare, a writer who becomes an advice columnist even though her own life is falling apart.
And, while the drama is beautifully acted, is it just me or are you also tired of TV shows centering around incredibly self-involved people screwing up their lives?
Listen to Ingrid Michaelson’s ‘Closer to Fine‘ from the Tiny Beautiful Things Episode 1 end credits in the video, and on the TV series’ soundtrack.
It is just one of many songs the American indie singer has had licensed for play on hit TV series.
