15-year-old British singer Jasmine Thompson’s cover of Meghan Trainor’s ‘Like I’m Gonna Lose You‘ was featured on the latest episode of The CW’s The Originals (Season 3, Episode 11 – “Wild At Heart”) last Friday night. And, since it was, the song and Jasmine Thompson are getting a huge surge of interest from the show’s fans.
‘Like I’m Gonna Lose You‘ was originally released by Meghan Trainor and John Legend late last year, and it was a beautiful track. But it was a more upbeat, faster and snappier track than what we heard on The Originals with Jasmine Thompson’s version.
In fact, Thompson adds something that is more ethereal and touching than the original song and, when you hear her sing, it really is hard to believe she is only 15.
Thompson started her music career five years ago by releasing cover songs on YouTube. Since that start, she has hit it big in the UK and other European countries with covers of songs like Chaka Khan’s ‘Ain’t Nobody‘ and by providing the vocals for Robin Schulz’s ‘Sun Goes Down‘.
