Listen to John Lee Hooker’s ‘Boom Boom’ — Boom! Boom!: The World vs. Boris Becker opening theme song

John Lee Hooker’s ‘Boom Boom’ opening theme song for Boom! Boom!: The World vs. Boris Becker

The new Apple TV film Boom! Boom!: The World vs. Boris Becker was released this weekend.

A documentary that shows the meteoric rise of the former Wimbledon champion, as well as his fall.

A fall that eventually led to an 8-month jail term in the United Kingdom for refusing to hand over £2.5 million worth of assets to help pay off bankruptcy debt, and his eventual deportation from the UK.

Along with the documentary account of Boris Becker’s life, Boom! Boom!: The World vs. Boris Becker also features a plethora of stellar music on its soundtrack.

Music that includes John Lee Hooker’s ‘Boom Boom’ as the show’s opening theme song.

John Lee Hooker’s ‘Boom Boom’ was released in 1961 and has since gone down in history as one of the best blues songs ever released.

It has also become one of Hooker’s signature songs, and one of the iconic American blues singer’s most recognized songs.

On Boom! Boom!: The World vs. Boris Becker, the track is first heard around 9 minutes into the first half of the documentary, and then again in the second part of the British documentary.

Listen to John Lee Hooker’s ‘Boom Boom’ as heard on Boom! Boom!: The World vs. Boris Becker in the video, and on the Spotify player from his Urban Blues album.

Watch the two-part Becker documentary now on Apple TV.
