Listen to Jon Spencer and Ray Verta’s ‘Nevermore Blues’ from Clarkson’s Farm, Season 2, Ep. 2 – so damned good

Episode 2 of Season 2 of the superb and hilarious British documentary series Clarkson’s Farm not only introduces cows to the Diddy Squat Farm, its soundtrack also features a couple of stellar songs.

One of them, Jon Spencer and Ray Verta’s ‘Nevermore Blues‘ was that song playing on the series as Jeremy is explaining why he bought the cows he bought — Clarkson’s Farm, Season 2, Episode 2, “Cowering“.

“I bought the cows to reinvigorate my soil”, and then as his mind wandered went on to talk about growing “peppers”.

Nevermore Blues‘ by Jon Spencer and Ray Verta was released in December, 2011 on a compilation album called Rockabilly.

The track was a great addition to that particular episode of Clarkson’s Farm, as it added just the right amount of “western” feel to it as the cows wandered around and Jeremy talked about his obvious pride in owning them.

Jon Spencer himself is largely known for his involvement with bands like Pussy Galore, Boss Hog, Heavy Trash and The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion.

Ray Verta (aka Matt Verta-Ray) is a Canadian musician known as a member of Heavy Trash and Madder Rose.

Listen to ‘Nevermore Blues‘ by Jon Spencer and Ray Verta on the Rockabilly album, and in the video.

It is a cool one, and a fun addition to Clarkson’s Farm.
