English new wave band Kajagoogoo’s ‘Too Shy‘ is one of the fabulous songs featured on American Horror Story this week — American Horror Story, Season 9, Episode 7, “The Lady in White“.
The track was played during that superb scene as Ramirez murders the singer Kajagoogoo.
Kajagoogoo’s ‘Too Shy‘ was the lead single from the band’s debut album White Feathers, which was released in 1983 via the EMI record label.
The song was a huge hit for the British indie band. It hit #1 on the UK Singles Chart, and also made it to the top spot in Belgium, Ireland and West Germany.
It eventually charted in 17 countries, and was certified Gold in both the United Kingdom and France. The album topped the charts in Japan.
Kajagoogoo was founded in 1978, released their first music under the band name Art Nouveau, but were never successful in getting a record deal.
After hiring new lead singer Limahl, who had a connection with Duran Duran keyboardist Nick Rhodes, and changing their band name, they were eventually able to ink a deal with EMI.
Kajagoogoo broke up in December, 1985, then got back together in 2003 and released their last single in 2011.
