There was another interesting choice of contemporary music on the soundtrack of The Serpent Queen last night as the American indie singer songwriter King Princess’ ‘There She Goes Again‘ was featured in the episode — The Serpent Queen, Season 1, Episode 4, “A New Era“.
The rock song was heard as the Queen’s servant lies about being able to identify a male guard’s “member”.
King Princess’ ‘There She Goes Again‘ is a cover of the original Velvet Underground track. A cover that came out in late 2021 on the tribute album I’ll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute to the Velvet Underground & Nico.
The song features King Princess‘ signature raspy vocals and cool vibe, and is a fun remake of a classic track.
The Verve Records album also features 10 other cover performances by such indie luminaries as R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe, Sharon Van Etten and Angel Olsen, Courtney Barnett, Iggy Pop and Matt Sweeney, St. Vincent, Thurston Moore, and Kurt Vile and The Violators.
