Listen to Kurt Vile’s ‘Run Run Run’ from The Company You Keep, E06 the painting swap

American indie rock/folk rock singer songwriter Kurt Vile’s ‘Run Run Run‘ was that song played for several minutes during the latest episode of The Company You Keep last night — The Company You Keep, Season 1, Episode 6, “The Real Thing“.

The song was heard towards the end of the episode as Charlie and Emma trip the fire alarm and the building is evacuated.

It continues as Charlie switches the painting out for a fake, and as Emma shorts the coffee pot. ‘Run Run Run‘ is still playing as the fire trucks arrive, and the fire is put out.

It ends as Charlie and Emma leave the building dressed as firefighters.

Yep, nicely, we got to hear almost the whole song during all of that action.

Kurt Vile’s ‘Run Run Run‘ was originally released in 2021 on an album called I’ll Be Your Mirror: A Tribute to The Velvet Underground & Nico.

The album was a tribute to the 1967 album The Velvet Underground & Nico, but this time with the same tracks performed by musicians like Sharon Van Etten, John Cale, Courtney Barnett, Iggy Pop and King Princess and, of course, Kurt Vile.

Despite having five singles released from it, and Kurt Vile’s ‘Run Run Run‘ being the lead single, surprisingly the album did not chart in the United States.

Instead, it only charted in Austria, the Netherlands, Switzerland and Germany.

Listen to Kurt Vile’s ‘Run Run Run‘ as played on last night’s The Company You Keep on that album, and in the video.

The first season of The Company You Keep is now airing on ABC.
