Listen to Linda Ronstadt’s ‘Long Long Time’ from The Last of Us, Season 1, Ep. 3

The post-apocalyptic drama The Last of Us has been an interesting watch, not just for the story but also for the songs used on its soundtrack.

Songs like Linda Ronstadt’s ‘Long Long Time‘, which was played on The Last of Us, Season 1, Episode 3, “Long Long Time” at the end of the episode, as Joel asks Ellie if she knows who Ronstadt was, and then continues playing over the end credits.

Linda Ronstadt’s ‘Long Long Time‘ was the second single from the American singer’s sophomore studio album Silk Purse.

Interestingly, Ronstadt‘s record company didn’t want the song to be included on the album.

Something that would have been a mistake it turns out, as it went on to become her first successful single.

The track hit #25 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, charted high on four other charts in the U.S. including at #26 on the Cash Box Top 100, as well as charting high in Canada.

It also went on to earn Ronstadt a Grammy Award nomination in the Best Contemporary Female Vocal Performance category, ultimately having her lose out to Dionne Warwick for ‘I’ll Never Fall in Love Again‘.

Listen to Linda Ronstadt’s ‘Long Long Time‘ as heard on The Last of Us in the video, and on her Silk Purse album.

The Last of Us is based on the Naughty Dog video game of the same name, and is currently streaming on HBO Max.

The post-apocalyptic drama has been so successful with viewers and critics, it has already been greenlit for a second season.
