Listen to Lizzo’s ‘If You Love Me’ from The Summer I Turned Pretty, S2 Ep 1

The first episode of the new season of The Summer I Turned Pretty features yet more stellar music on its soundtrack.

One of those tracks was Lizzo’s ‘If You Love Me‘, which was that song playing on The Summer I Turned Pretty, Season 2, Episode 1, “Love Lost” as Conrad finally calls Belly.

When was Lizzo’s ‘If You Love Me‘ released?

The track is one of the songs from the American singer and rapper’s fourth studio album Special, which came out in July, 2022 on both the Nice Life and Atlantic Records labels.

The hip hop, disco, funk album went on to chart high up charts in 21 countries, with European countries seeming to be especially smitten with the album.

In the United States, Special hit #2 on the Billboard 200 chart and on the Top Tastemaker Albums chart.

It also charted at #2 in Australia, and #3 in Canada and New Zealand.

Interestingly, even though it is a feel good ‘confidence’ track, Lizzo’s ‘If You Love Me‘ was one of the least popular songs on the album, with the album itself receiving average to generally positive reviews from most critics.

The song is about loving yourself as much as other people love you, even when certain people in your life seem to prefer to point out your faults.

Listen to Lizzo’s ‘If You Love Me‘ from The Summer I Turned Pretty in the video, and via Lizzo’s Special album on Spotify.

Season 2 of the exceptionally good teen drama The Summer I Turned Pretty is now streaming via Amazon Prime Video.
