Listen to Looking Glass’s ‘Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)’ from Fatal Attraction, Ep. 1 and Dan’s car crash

American soft rock band Looking Glass’s ‘Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)‘ was played on the Paramount Plus thriller Fatal Attraction this week.

It was heard in the scenes where Dan is driving home drunk and singing along to the track.

It then continues as a bird hits the windshield and, as a result, Dan crashes his car into a bridge support — Fatal Attraction, Episode 1, “Pilot“.

Looking Glass’s ‘Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)‘ came out in early 1978 as the second single from the band’s self-titled debut studio album.

The song became a surprise hit for the New Jersey-based band, going on to peak at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and on the U.S. Cashbox chart.

It also hit the top spot in Canada, and charted in the Top 10 in Australia and New Zealand.

The song tells the story of a barmaid in a coastal town who, although many of the seamen that come in the bar are attracted to her, she only has interest in one man — the one who got away.

As the man tells her in the chorus of the song:

The sailor said, “Brandy, you’re a fine girl
You’re a fine girl
What a good wife you would be
Such a fine girl
But my life, my love and my lady is the sea

Listen to Looking Glass’s ‘Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl)‘ from the car crash scene in Fatal Attraction in the video, and on Spotify where it has earned almost 300 million streams.

As far as Fatal Attraction goes, though, I have aleady seen the original Sharon Stone movie (twice). So I am not sure why I would want to watch a similar story again in mini-series form?

How about you?
