Listen to Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s ‘Blinded by the Light’ from Firefly Lane, S2 E14 as Kate and Coop make out

Firefly Lane, Season 2, Episode 14, “Can’t Fight This Feeling” featured a couple of cool songs played on that episode’s soundtrack.

One of them, was Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s ‘Blinded by the Light‘, which showed up in the scene where a younger Kate and Coop are in his car at “Makeout Point”.

It continues playing as the pair begin to make out.

And while many people think Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s ‘Blinded by the Light‘ was the British rock band’s original song, it was actually released four years before their cover of the song by the track’s original writer Bruce Springsteen.

The song has gone on, however, to be much more associated with the band than with The Boss, and is now one of the band’s signature songs.

Manfred Mann’s Earth Band actually released ‘Blinded by the Light‘ in 1976 as the lead single from their seventh studio album The Roaring Silence.

The song had several lightly different lyrics than the Springsteen original, as well as featured the added ‘Chopsticks’ chord transition.

Blinded by the Light‘ ranked at #1 on both the Billboard Hot 100 chart in America and the Cash Box Top 100, as well as charting in New Zealand, Australia, the Netherlands and Canada.

It also became Springsteen’s first ever and still only #1 single as a songwriter.

Listen to Manfred Mann’s Earth Band’s ‘Blinded by the Light‘ from that romantic scene in Firefly Lane in the music video of the rock band performing the song live, as well as on the band’s The Roaring Silence album.

The track is currently the band’s most listened to song on Spotify, with almost 200 million plays.
