R&B, progressive soul singer Maxwell’s ‘Know These Things: Shouldn’t You‘ was one of the songs played on the soundtrack of Reasonable Doubt on Tuesday night — Reasonable Doubt, Season 1, Episode 8, “Song Cry“.
The song was played during Jax’s flashback as she remembers her stepfather apologizing about his drunk behavior, and Jax comforting Damon as he cries.
Maxwell’s ‘Know These Things: Shouldn’t You‘ was released in 1998 on the singer’s sophomore studio album Embrya, which came out on the Columbia label.
It was an album that was interesting, as critics didn’t like it but fans loved it.
Of course, once the album began to sell incredibly well, however, many critics then changed their minds. Because they do that, don’t they.
The album sold more than 1 million copies, made it to #3 on the Billboard 200 chart, #2 on the Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums, and charted high in six other countries.
Embrya was also certified Platinum in the United States.
Listen to Maxwell’s ‘Know These Things: Shouldn’t You‘ as heard on last night’s Reasonable Doubt on the singer’s Embrya album, and in the video.
