Michael Kiwanuka’s ‘Love & Hate‘ was featured on the FOX series Rosewood on Tuesday night (Season 1, Episode 22 – “Badges & Bombshells” — May 24th), a track that is such a beautifully rich piece of soul, it quickly becomes addictive. That it comes with a cool music video that shows Kiwanuka recording the track in the studio makes it even better.

And what is yet more fabulous about Kiwanuka’s ‘Love and Hate‘ is the track is actually 8 minutes long, so you have plenty of time to not only listen to it but to absolutely luxuriate in the beauty of this fabulously catchy song. And to sing along, of course, because it is one of those songs.

As for Michael Kiwanuka, he is a British soul singer songwriter who came to the public’s attention when he won the BBC’s Sound of 2012. At the time, he was compared to artists like Van Morrison and Otis Redding.

Since then Kiwanuka’s debut album Home Again, released a few months later, has hit high spots in album charts all over Europe, including the number 1 spot in the Netherlands.

His sophomore album, Love & Hate, is due to be released on July 15th and, if it’s anything like his debut, it’s going to be quite special. Then again, it’s been produced by Danger Mouse, with some additional work by Inflo, so it’s to be expected.

Meanwhile, listen to the first single from the album, ‘Love & Hate‘ — gorgeous lyrics, a rocking electric guitar and backing vocals that will have you humming for days. You can pre-order the album now.
