Listen to Midnight Star’s ‘No Parking on the Dance Floor’ from Pose and Pray Tells’ AIDS benefit scene

Remember that fabulous Midnight Star track ‘No Parking on the Dance Floor’, well it showed up on the new episode of Pose last night — Pose, Season 2, Episode 6, “Love’s in Need of Love Today“.

It was played on the show while Pray Tell is organizing his AIDS benefit, begins his cabaret segment, then feels dizzy, hallucinates and faints.

We then see Blanca, who is collecting money for the benefit, rush to his side. Pray Tell is then transported to hospital.

Midnight Star’s ‘No Parking on the Dance Floor‘ was a huge hit for the band back in 1984 when it was first released.

The song was the title single from the vocal band’s fourth studio album, and was the third single released from the album.

The single made it number 43 on the R&B chart, number 44 on the dance chart, and number 81 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

The album itself also spawned several other hit singles, including ‘Freak-A-Zoid‘, and hit the number 2 spot on the Billboard Top Soul Albums chart.

Listen to Midnight Star’s ‘No Parking on the Dance Floor‘ in the official music video below. A video that definitely has that early 80s vibe, but is still all kinds of fun.

You can hear the vocal group’s album in its entirety in the Spotify widget below that.
