Listen to Miley Cyrus’ ‘Party in the USA’ from The Summer I Turned Pretty, S2 E6 as Steven and Taylor dance

Miley Cyrus’ ‘Party in the USA’ was one of the songs played on the latest episode of The Summer I Turned Pretty, Season 2 as Steven asks everyone to get off the dance floor so he can dance to the song with Taylor — The Summer I Turned Pretty, Season 2, Episode 6, “Love Fest“.

The song continued playing as the two finish dancing, and as Steven tells her she’s his “favorite person”.

Miley Cyrus’ ‘Party in the USA’ was released as a song from the American singer’s The Time of Our Lives EP, which came out in 2009 on the Hollywood label when she was still just 16-years-old.

The song was the lead single from the EP.

It was written by British singer Jessie J, who eventually decided not to record the song, which was why it was then offered to Cyrus.

Cyrus, Jessie J felt was more suited to the upbeat, more pop-y feel to the track, whereas the British singer preferred to sing and record tracks that were darker.

The track itself is much more of a Britney Spears-style song than it is a typical Miley Cyrus, but the singer did do well with it as she ended up having the track chart in 19 countries including the U.S. where it became an enormous hit and was ultimately certified 12x Platinum.

Then again, it is a very patriotically American song, so there’s that.

Meanwhile, Season 2 of The Summer I Turned Pretty is now streaming via Amazon Prime Video along with the first season.
