Muse’s ‘Starlight’ played on The Way Home S2 Ep 8 as Nick sees Alice through the window

English indie rock band Muse’s ‘Starlight‘ was that cool era-appropriate indie rock song playing on The Way Home this week — The Way Home, Season 2, Episode 8 “Lose Yourself“.

The track began playing as Nick sees Alice through a window at the party, and takes off his mask to look at her closer then, as he runs to find her, she has already disappeared.

The song continues playing back in the present day as Kat, Nick and Monica are at Elliot’s house relaxing talking about that party.

What year did Muse release ‘Starlight‘?

Starlight‘ was first released by Muse in 2006, about a year before the events that take place on The Way Home.

The song came out in late August, 2006 as the second single from the British indie band’s fourth studio album Black Holes and Revelations, which was released on the Warner Bros label as well as on the band’s own label Helium 3.

The track quickly made it to #1 on the U.S. Bubbling Under Hot 100 Singles chart, and on the UK Rock & Metal chart, as well as ranked high up on music charts in 11 other countries.

Since its release, it has become one of Muse’s most popular and most well-known songs, as well as one of the band’s most commercially successful.

As for its meaning, bassist and backing vocalist Chris Wolstenholme once said it was simply a song about missing the people you love.

Lead singer Matt Bellamy added it’s one of those songs about how you feel when you’ve been away from home for a long time, like on a road trip with the band, and you suddenly wonder what the hell you’re still doing there when there’s someone at home that loves you.

Listen to Muse’s ‘Starlight‘ as heard playing at both parties during this week’s episode of The Way Home in the song’s music video, and via the indie band’s Black Holes and Revelations album on Spotify.

The song is so popular on that platform, it has almost 400 million streams.
