Kentucky-based rock band My Morning Jacket’s ‘I Will Sing You Songs‘ was one of the cool tracks played on the soundtrack of The Walking Dead: World Beyond yesterday — The Walking Dead: World Beyond, Season 2, Episode 5, “Quatervois“.
The song was playing as Iris pleads with Silas to help them and then gives Silas the picture she drew of all of them together, making Silas happy.
My Morning Jacket’s ‘I Will Sing You Songs’ is from the band’s 2003 third studio album It Still Moves, which was released in 2003 via ATO Records.
Upon release, the album surged to #2 on the Billboard Top Heatseekers in the U.S. A remixed version of the album was re-released in 2016.
The song is a 9-minute 18 second track that begins with a very long instrumental introduction, with My Morning Jacket‘s lead singer Jim James not coming in until well after the 2-minute mark.
The song itself is hypnotic and dreamy, with lyrics begging the man’s lover to not worry about things in the relationship that are not important.
