It is one of the singer’s most popular tracks, and was the title track from his final studio album, which was released in early 1965 just a few days before his death from lung cancer.

The album was recorded after Cole had been diagnosed with terminal lung cancer, and given just a few months to live.

His family said he had wanted to record the album so he could ensure they had enough money to live on after he died.

Nat King Cole was just 45-years-old when he died, leaving behind his wife Maria and five children.

L-O-V-E‘ went on to hit #81 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and #17 on the Adult Contemporary chart.

Cole also recorded the song in several other languages.

Listen to Nat King Cole’s ‘L-O-V-E‘ as heard on Evil last night on his album of the same name, and in the lyric video.

The song itself is a simple sounding track, but that simplicity and Nat King Cole’s gorgeous voice are so powerful they have caused ‘L-O-V-E‘ to endure and still be a popular song almost 60 years after its release.
