British indie rock band Noah and the Whale’s ‘Our Window‘ was played on the LGBTQ drama series Heartstopper this week — Heartstopper, Season 1, Episode 8, “Boyfriend“.
The song was heard as Nick was texting Charlie.
Noah and the Whale’s ‘Our Window‘ is from the indie band’s sophomore studio album The First Days of Spring, which came out in August, 2009. (Listen to the full album via Spotify below).
The album contains somber songs that all talk about the break up of lead singer Charlie Fink with former band member British folk singer Laura Marling.
Prior to Marling leaving the band, Noah and the Whale also featured female vocals, so this was the first release that did not.
While not a big commercial success, The First Days of Spring was critically acclaimed, particularly by media in the United Kingdom.
It also charted in the U.S. at #19 on the Heatseekers chart.
Sadly, because the band’s music was quite unique, Noah and the Whale broke up in 2015.
