British science fiction drama The Power is pretty much junk, but the series is absolutely loaded with stellar songs played on each episode’s soundtrack, which at least increased my enjoyment of it somewhat.
Songs like Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Brutal‘, which was played on The Power after Mr. Monk knocks down the cake.
It continues as Jos is sitting on her bed watching videos on her laptop, and leaving nasty comments on the Instagram lookalike — The Power, Season 1, Episode 1, “A Better Future Is In Your Hands“.
Olivia Rodrigo’s ‘Brutal‘ was released as the fifth single from her debut studio album Sour, which came out in May, 2021.
The moody pop rock song was written to make fun of the idea that everyone’s best years are while they are teenagers and, once they become adults, it is all downhill from there.
The track was another hit for the very popular Rodrigo, hitting charts in over a dozen countries and making it to the top spot on the American Hot Rock and Alternative Songs chart.
The song was also certified Gold or Platinum in five countries, including the UK and the United States.
Rodrigo’s ‘Brutal‘ music video, which was equally as addictive, featured the singer in various outfits as a choose your own player character in an 8-bit game.
Since its release, the video has earned the young American singer more than 48 million views on YouTube alone.
