British singer songwriter Passenger continued his Sunday night releases of new cover songs with a cover of the classic Van Morrison song ‘And It Stoned Me‘ last night. The video for the song was filmed on the Sussex Downs and, as usual, is as much a beautiful work of art as is Passenger’s performance of the song.
As for ‘And It Stoned Me‘, it was the first track on his first solo album Moondance, released back in 1970. It’s been covered by a slew of artists since, including David Gray, James Morrison and Bob Dylan.
Watch and listen to Passenger’s cover of ‘And It Stoned Me‘ in the video below. And I have to say I hope he keeps doing these covers as they always make my Sunday night a little bit better.
And for more of Passenger’s gorgeous cover songs, don’t miss his versions of Cat Steven’s ‘The Wind‘, Bob Dylan’s ‘Girl From The North Country‘ and Paul Simon’s ‘Diamonds On The Soles of Her Shoes’.
