Listen to Patti LaBelle’s ‘New Attitude’ from Physical S3 Ep 1 as Sheila is on Wake Up, San Diego

The American R&B singer Patti LaBelle’s ‘New Attitude’ was one of three cool 1970s/1980s songs played on the first episode of Season 3 of the Apple TV drama Physical today.

The song was heard as Sheila appears on the morning TV show Wake Up, San Diego, and tells viewers all you need to stay in shape is energy and music.

She then gets up and starts to workout, with the show’s anchors following along behind her.

The track continues playing as we see Rose leading a large aerobics class, and as a record number of new attendees are signing up for her aerobics class.

When was Patti LaBelle’s ‘New Attitude’ released?

Patti LaBelle’s ‘New Attitude’ is the one of the singer’s most well-known songs, and one of her biggest successes.

The track was originally released in 1984 for the soundtrack of the massively popular movie Beverly Hills Cop starring Eddie Murphy.

It also helped kick off the singer’s solo career, as she had struggled for several years to make a name for herself as a singer after her band Labelle broke up.

New Attitude‘ certainly gave LaBelle a new attitude about life, as it went on to chart at #1 on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart, as well as #3 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.

Outside the United States, ‘New Attitude’ also charted in Australia and New Zealand.

Listen to Patti LaBelle’s ‘New Attitude’ as heard on Physical this week in the song’s music video, and on the album Pattie LaBelle’s Greatest Hits below.

The third and final season of Physical is now streaming on Apple TV Plus.
