Listen to Peter Gabriel’s ‘In Your Eyes’ from Not Dead Yet, Season 1, Episode 4

Iconic British musician Peter Gabriel‘s music appears everywhere nowadays, from TV commercials to hit movies, films and even in computer games.

So there wasn’t much surprise when Peter Gabriel’s ‘In Your Eyes‘ showed up on the latest episode of the comedy drama Not Dead Yet this week — Not Dead Yet, Season 1, Episode 4, “Not Dating Yet”.

Unfortunately for Gabriel, his music appeared on one of the most unfunny comedy dramas ever released.

Peter Gabriel’s ‘In Your Eyes‘ was played on Not Dead Yet as Nell meets a guy in a bar, they talk, go for a walk and buy churros and as she takes a photo with him, only to realize he’s dead.

The song itself first came out on Gabriel’s now celebrated fifth studio album So, and features Senegalese singer-songwriter Youssou N’Dour providing extra vocals.

Released as a single in the United States, but not in the singer’s home country of the United Kingdom, ‘In Your Eyes‘ made it to #26 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and to #1 on the Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart in the U.S.

It gained even more popularity after the song was used in the film Say Anything… as the track playing on the boombox Lloyd Dobler holds over his head while standing outside his ex-girlfriend’s bedroom window late at night in an attempt to woo her.

Listen to Peter Gabriel’s ‘In Your Eyes‘ as heard on Not Dead Yet this week in the song’s music video, and on the Special Edition of Gabriel’s So album.

An album, by the way, that is excellent in every respect.

Not Dead Yet, which is supremely unfunny, airs via ABC.
