Listen to Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘I Know The End’ from Shrinking, Season 1, Ep. 3’s Jimmy on his bike crying scene

This week’s episode of Shrinking was full of melancholic songs.

But the saddest track featured on the episode just has to be Pheobe Bridgers’ ‘I Know The End’, which showed up on Shrinking, Season 1, Episode 3, “Fifteen Minutes“.

Although, of course, the song didn’t have the completely mournful impact it would have done if Jimmy hadn’t screamed “Fuck you, Phoebe Bridgers!”, as it played, and then flipped over a suddenly opened car door while riding his bike and crying.

Yep, Phoebe Bridgers‘ sad songs can be used for humor too it seems.

Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘I Know The End‘ came out in mid-2020 as the fourth single from the indie folk singer’s sophomore studio album Punisher, which was released via the Dead Oceans record label.

The song itself is a commentary on mental health, depression and the euphoria that sometimes comes from them.

It was so well-liked by American music critics, it was placed on the Best Songs of 2020 lists by such outlets as Pitchfork, NPR, NME, Consequence of Sound, Spin and Vulture.

The track has also become a fan favorite, with more than 70 million plays on Spotify alone.

Listen to Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘I Know The End’ as heard on that standout scene in last night’s Shrinking in the song’s official music video, and on Bridgers’ Punisher album below.
