Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘Nothing Else Matters‘ was the perfect song for that Will and Angie scene
Indie folk music artist Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘Nothing Else Matters‘ was the song playing on Will Trent this week as Will visits Angie in hospital after she is beaten up — Will Trent, Season 1, Episode 11, “Bill Black“.
Phoebe Bridgers’ ‘Nothing Else Matters‘ was a track released in 2021 specifically for the collaboration album The Metallica Blacklist.
A tribute album featuring a slew of artists performing Metallica songs, and which came out on the Blackened Recordings label.
The album features Metallica songs performed several different times by different artists, with ‘Nothing Else Matters‘ showing up 12 times on the album performed by artists like Miley Cyrus, Dermot Kennedy and My Morning Jacket along with Bridgers’ version.
Proceeds from the album were donated to both each artist’s favorite charity and Metallica’s All Within My Hands Foundation.
And, while I do not think Phoebe Bridgers‘ version of the song is the absolute standout on the album, as I will place the track from My Morning Jacket as my favorite, it is still pretty damned stellar.
