If you are one of the many people who are addicted to the BBC Two TV series Peaky Blinders since it arrived on Netflix, you may have heard Radiohead‘s ‘You and Whose Army‘ on Season 2, Episode 3 recently and thought what an amazing song.
Join the club. Lead singer Thom Yorke’s voice is so gorgeously poetic here.
Radiohead’s ‘You And Whose Army‘ is from the English band’s fifth studio album Amnesiac.
Released in 2001, some music critics accused the album of being nothing more than made up of “thinly veiled B-sides” when it first appeared.
Others, however, put it on their list of best albums of 2001 — which I tend to agree with, especially when you hear ‘You And Whose Army’, ‘Knives Out’ and ‘I Might Be Wrong’ — and it was eventually nominated for a Grammy Award.
‘You and Whose Army’ was the fourth single from the album. Watch the band performing it live below. Isn’t that wonderful?
