American indie punk rock band Ramones’ ‘Blitzkrieg Bop‘ was played on the new Jeremy Renner documentary Rennervations this week — Rennervations, Season 1, Episode 1, “Chicago: Building a Mobile Music Bus“.
The pop punk rock track was played as the crew manages to get the electricity supply to the recording studio to work.
Ramones’ ‘Blitzkrieg Bop‘ is one of the band’s iconic songs as it was their debut single.
Released in early 1976, ‘Blitzkrieg Bop‘ also came out on their debut album a few months later.
The song went on to be placed on the lists of several major music critics, including Rolling Stone magazine, as one of the best songs or best rock songs of all time.
In the almost 50 years since it was recorded (Yep, FIFTY years!), ‘Ramones’ ‘Blitzkrieg Bop‘ has also shown up at many sporting events.
Especially in America where sports goers love to shout the “Hey Ho, Let’s go” chorus to cheer on their favorite teams.
As for the Ramones, the band was founded in 1974 and produced music together for 22 years until their break up in 1996.
During that time, they released 14 albums, 10 live albums and more singles than other indie artists put together.
Listen to Ramones’ ‘Blitzkrieg Bop‘ as heard on Rennervations in the video, and on the band’s self-titled debut album.
