Listen to Rick James’ ‘Cold Blooded’ from Atlanta, Season 4, Ep. 2, “The Homeliest Little Horse”

Soul, funk and R&B singer Rick James’ ‘Cold Blooded‘ was the final song played on one of the episodes of Atlanta last night — Atlanta, Season 4, Episode 2, “The Homeliest Little Horse“.

The funk track played over the episode’s end credits.

Rick James’ ‘Cold Blooded‘ was released as a single in July, 1983, and ended up on three charts in the United States.

That include at #1 on the Billboard R&B chart, and #40 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Cold Blooded‘ also charted in the UK at #93 on the Singles chart.

James said he wrote the song about his relationship with actress Linda Blair who, according to the singer, aborted his child but didn’t tell him she was pregnant until after the fact.

The song’s lyrics talk about a woman who James thinks is sexy and hot, but then realizes she is ‘cold blooded’, and so maybe not the right choice for him.

Even so, he still finds her “sexy”.

Listen to Rick James’ ‘Cold Blooded’ from the second of two Atlanta episodes released last night in the video, and on the late singer’s album of the same name.
