Listen to Roxette’s ‘It Must Have Been Love’ from Barry, S4 E01

The now-defunct Swedish pop band Roxette’s ‘It Must Have Been Love‘ was one of the tracks played on the first episode of the new season of the HBO comedy crime drama Barry yesterday — Barry, Season 4, Episode 1, “Yikes“.

The song was the power ballad track playing as Sally is having a panic attack.

Roxette’s ‘It Must Have Been Love‘ was released in late 1987 and became the Swedish pop duo’s biggest hits.

At the time of release, the song became an enormous worldwide hit making it to #1 on charts in eight countries.

In the United States, the track made it to the coveted #1 position on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, as well as #2 on the Adult Contemporary chart and the Cash Box chart.

It Must Have Been Love‘ got a renewed lease of life and hit charts again three years later after a shorter version of the song was featured on the soundtrack of the enormously successful Julia Roberts’ movie Pretty Woman.

The music video for the song also featured scenes from the movie, which is likely one of the reasons the video currently has more than 671 million plays on YouTube.

Listen to Roxette’s ‘It Must Have Been Love’ as heard on yesterday’s episode of Barry in that video, and on the Spotify player.

Over 35 years since its release, and it is still a helluva’ an addictive track.

As for the fourth season of Barry, the drama is currently streaming via HBO.
