The fabulous British R ‘n B singer Sharna Bass’s gorgeous track ‘Buss A 9‘ was featured on the latest episode of the HBO series Insecure on Sunday night (September 23rd, 2018) — Season 3, Episode 7, “Obsessed-Like“.
The track was played as Molly and Issa get into the car, and Molly asks what’s wrong.
The Sharna Bass song ‘Buss A 9‘ was produced by Rachet (Devlin, Emeli Sande), and is a quite astounding track for a relatively unknown singer that is still only 21-years-old.
Particularly as the song is about the depth of emotion involved in a love affair gone wrong, yet she still wants him to know about all the things she would have done for him if he had only loved her more.
And what is lovely about Sharna Bass’s vocals on this song is that she captures the devastation of not being loved enough in a quiet way without going overboard into excessive drama and lamenting.
Which makes her interpretation of the song all the more real, as that is usually how most people react. Hiding their emotions away, and suffering in silence.
