Listen to Steely Dan’s ‘Dirty Work’ from Tiny Beautiful Things, Ep 6 end credits

Iconic American rock band Steely Dan’s ‘Dirty Work‘ was the song playing at the end of the sixth episode of the Hulu series Tiny Beautiful Things, as Clare and her husband get in the taxi and the driver turns out to be a guy she slept with a couple of months before.

Of course, Clare denies it, but it is obvious her husband is still suspicious.

The song plays on the radio as the taxi pulls away, and then continues over the Tiny Beautiful Things, Episode 6, “Broken Things” end credits.

It also plays again at the beginning of the next episode of the drama, as Clare and Danny are still in the taxi.

Steely Dan’s ‘Dirty Work‘ was one of the songs on the band’s debut album Can’t Buy a Thrill, which came out in 1972.

It was an appropriate song for that ending scene, as the lyrics of the song are written from the perspective of a man who is having an affair, knows the woman is just using him, but he is so obsessed with her he stays anyway.

Dirty Work’ was a song neither band members Walter Becker or Donald Fagen who wrote the song wanted on their debut album, as they weren’t too thrilled with its overly pop sound.

The record label insisted it be included, however, and ‘Dirty Work‘ went on to be well-liked by fans, as well as to be licensed for the soundtracks of a number of hit TV shows in recent years.
