Listen to Stevie Wonder’s ‘Why Don’t You Lead Me to Love’ from Bob’s Burgers, S14 Ep 2 ending scenes

Stevie Wonder’s ‘Why Don’t You Lead Me to Love‘ was the song playing at the end of this week’s episode of Bob’s BurgersBob’s Burgers, Season 14, Episode 2, “The Amazing Rudy“.

It began playing as Rudy and Louise leave the house to go to the restaurant.

The track continues as the pair walk and talk about the food at the restaurant (breadsticks) and Rudy’s “magic tricks”.

It then continues over the end credits, and plays the episode out.

When was Stevie Wonder’s ‘Why Don’t You Lead Me to Love‘ released?

Why Don’t You Lead Me to Love?‘ was released by the now legendary American singer in March, 1968 as the B-side to the then just 18-year-old’s ‘Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day‘.

The A-side went to #1 on the R&B chart in the U.S., as well as to #9 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Unlike ‘ ‘Shoo-Be-Doo-Be-Doo-Da-Day‘.’, which went on to be released on Stevie Wonder‘s tenth studio album For Once in My Life, Wonder’s ‘Why Don’t You Lead Me to Love‘ was a non-album single.

It did get an album release decades later, however, when it appeared on the singer’s 61 track/3-disc album Mono Singles in 2019.

The song itself is sung from the perspective of a man begging the girl he is in love with to love him back.

Because he is lonely and he needs her:

And why don’t you lead me
Lead me to love right now
In everything you do?
And why can’t you see, girl
I need a little love right now

Listen to Stevie Wonder’s sweet and somewhat sad song ‘Why Don’t You Lead Me to Love‘ as played on this week’s Bob Burgers down below.

It has never been one of Wonder’s most popular songs, but it is still quite lovely.

Season 14 of Bob’s Burgers is now airing/streaming on Fox.
