Listen to The Beatles’ ‘Magical Mystery Tour’ from Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny soundtrack

Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny audience ignores what “critics” said about the film

The latest Indiana Jones film Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which premiered on June 30th, is doing a helluva lot better at the box office than the so-called “critics” predicted (they predicted it would “flop”), with a $152 million box opening worldwide last weekend.

Along with its fast-action, superb performance by now-80-year-old Harrison Ford, and its silly-but-fun plot, the film actually features some great music on its soundtrack.

Music like The Beatles’ ‘Magical Mystery Tour‘, which showed up on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny as Indy is woken up by his neighbor’s loud music.

When was The Beatles’ ‘Magical Mystery Tour‘ released

Magical Mystery Tour‘ is the title track of The Beatles’ double EP, which came out in late 1967, as well as the title of the made-for-TV musical film written by and starring the band.

The song was written by Paul McCartney and John Lennon about a charabanc mystery tour that was popular in the UK when The Beatles’ members were young.

When I was young, train “mystery tours” were popular in the UK, and I used to go on them as a kid with my parents.

The premise was you got on a train with no idea of where it was going, and then enjoyed a day out when you got to wherever was your destination.

We ended up in places like Blackpool, York, and Southport.

The Beatles’ ‘Magical Mystery Tour‘ was almost universally critically acclaimed, and has gone on to become one of the many popular Beatles’ songs with fans.

Interesting too, as the EP it comes from is one of the most underrated releases The Beatles ever recorded.

Listen to The Beatles’ ‘Magical Mystery Tour‘ as heard on Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny on the Spotify player, and in the video below.
