British punk rock band The Clash’s iconic song ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go‘ was featured on Lucifer this week — Season 2, Episode 9, “Homewrecker“. It was heard when Lucifer asks Chloe to dance, and as Charlotte notices how close the two are growing and tells Linda.
The Clash’s ‘Should I Stay Or Should I Go‘ is from the band’s best-selling album Combat Rock released in 1982. It was the band’s only number one hit in the UK. But even that didn’t happen until 10 years later, when the single was re-released to huge success, charting in several countries.
The classic song has seen a resurgence lately, as it has also been used in several episodes of the recent Netflix series Stranger Things. A series that is set in 1983, so uses music pertinent to the times.
It also appeared on Rolling Stone’s ‘500 Greatest Songs of All Time‘ list in 2004, at number 228. One of five Clash songs that made the list. Then again, it is iconic and awesome, so no wonder really.
