Listen to The Monkees’ ‘Sometime In The Morning’ from Ted Lasso S3 E7 as Nathan looks for Jade

The Monkees’ ‘Sometime In The Morning‘ one of several cool songs on Ted Lasso this week

Iconic 1960s American pop group The Monkees’ ‘Sometime in the Morning‘ was played on Ted Lasso today — Ted Lasso, Season 3, Episode 7, “The Strings That Bind Us“.

The song was heard as Ted and Coach are at the pub talking, and continues as Nathan goes to the restaurant to see Jade.

The Monkees’ ‘Sometime in the Morning‘ was released as a track on the group’s second studio album More of the Monkees.

An album that came out in January, 1967 and was an interesting release as, not only did it kick The Monkees’ own debut album out of the top spot on the Billboard 200 chart, it then stayed at the top of that chart for 18 weeks.

To say The Monkees were popular in America in the late 60s then would be an understatement.

Outside America, the American group didn’t exactly have a shabby time of it either.

Not with their More of the Monkees album hitting the #1 spot in the UK, Finland, Canada and Norway.

As for ‘Sometime in the Morning’, it was notable for having been written by then-husband-and-wife team Gerry Goffin and Carole King.

The third season of Ted Lasso itself, unfortunately, has gone so “woke” it will never find its way back. Thankfully, the music on its soundtrack still helps carry the show.

Lose that, and it’s a no watch for me.

You can listen to a lot more of the music from Ted Lasso on Leo Sigh.
