Indie rock band The National’s ‘Fake Empire‘ was featured on the CBS series ‘Person of Interest‘ last week — (Sunday, 29th May, 2016 — Season 5, Episode 9 – “Sotto Voce“). It was not the first time the track has appeared as part of a TV show soundtrack, however, having also been played on the series Chuck, HBO’s Hung, One Tree Hill and Southland in the past.
For an even grander airing, an instrumental of the track was also played during the Democratic National Convention in 2008.
‘Fake Empire‘ is from the band’s fourth album, Boxer, which was released back in 2007 to critical acclaim and high sales.
As for The National, the band hails from Cincinnati and is currently working on their seventh studio album, expected to be released in late 2016 or early 2017. This summer, though, they are planning appearances at a whole slew of festivals around America, so do check those in your area as you may be pleasantly surprised.
