The Waco Brothers cover of ‘I Fought the Law‘ on So Help Me Todd is a stellar offering
Chicago-based American alternative country band The Waco Brothers’ ‘I Fought the Law (And the Law Won)‘ showed up on the legal drama So Help Me Todd this week — So Help Me Todd, Season 1, Episode 15, “Ivan the Terrible”.
The song was heard on the episode as the court room is being hacked.
The Waco Brothers’ ‘I Fought the Law‘, of course, is a cover of the original song most famously released by The Clash and then later by The Dead Kennedys and Green Day.
Yep, it is one of those tracks with a number of covers as it has been incredibly popular since its release.
The Waco Brother’s cover first showed up on the compilation album For A Decade of Sin: 11 Years of Bloodshot Records.
It was then re-released on the band’s own studio album RESIST!, which came out in 2020.
As covers go, it is a pretty solid version true to The Clash track, and there is nothing wrong with that.
