The new HBO psychological thriller Sharp Objects just took over as the best TV series for music now that the first season of Pose has finished.
Because this superb mini series has featured some of the best music of any American television series this year so far.
Take the most recent episode of the series — Sharp Objects, Episode 4, “Ripe” — because it featured music from a vast array of eclectic artists, including Led Zeppelin, Leon Bridges, The Doors, 2PAC, Emily Wells, Nana Mouskouri, The Acid, Bob Dylan and this one from The War on Drugs — “Thinking Of A Place“.
The War on Drugs track “Thinking Of A Place” is an 11-minute psychedelic track from the band’s 2017 studio album A Deeper Understanding. An album that is the most successful release The War on Drugs has ever had, and one that was even awarded a Grammy Award for Best Rock Album.
Listen to The War on Drugs song ‘Thinking Of A Place‘ in the video below, or in the Spotify widget below that.
Yes, it is lead singer and band founder Adam Granduciel singing, yes, he does sound like a young Bob Dylan, and yes those guitar solos are gorgeous.
Sharp Objects stars Amy Adams, Patricia Clarkson, Chris Messina, and Eliza Scanlen.
