American R&B singer Toni Braxton’s ‘Unbreak My Heart’ was one of the songs on the soundtrack of this week’s A Million Little Things last night — A Million Little Things, Season 5, Episode 6, “MicDrop“.
The song was played as Gary, Rome and Eddie are putting the crib together and then, as Gary is worrying about Maggie’s contractions, Rome and Eddie send him to check on her.
Toni Braxton’s ‘Unbreak My Heart’ was released in 1996 as the second single from her second studio album Secrets, which came out on the Arista and LaFace record labels.
The song became Braxton’s biggest hit and a somewhat signature song in later years, as it rose to #1 on charts in 10 countries, as well as hitting #1 in the United States on a massive five charts, and in the Top 5 on three more.
‘Unbreak My Heart‘ also won Braxton a Grammy Award for Best Female Pop Vocal Performance, and then went on to sell more than 10 million copies, causing it to be certified Gold, Platinum or 2 x Platinum in a dozen countries.
Listen to Toni Braxton’s ‘Unbreak My Heart’ as heard on A Million Little Things on the singer’s Secrets album, and in the song’s (sorry, but…) overly dramatic music video.
Almost 30 years since its released, and it is still a helluva lovely ballad.
