Listen to Valerie Broussard’s ‘Killer’ from YOU, Season 4, Ep. 1 – an appropriate song for that party scene

American singer songwriter Valerie Broussard’s ‘Killer‘ was played on the new season of YOU this week — YOU, Season 4, Episode 1, “Joe Takes a Holiday“.

The song was heard at the end of the episode, right after Joe arrives at the private club, and gets a notice on his phone from a strange app followed by an even stranger text conversation.

Killer‘ kicks in as Joe is then having dinner at the club with his new London “friends”, and wondering what their next move will be.

The song’s lyrics are also pretty damned appropriate for that scene, where nobody there trusts anyone else it seems:

They told me you a killer, a killerI saw your collection of hearts and I shoulda known better, better‘Cause they told me you a killer, a killerAnd I’ve got no doubt that the only way out of this thriller

Valerie Broussard’s ‘Killer‘ was released in October, 2019 via RCA Records.

The song didn’t chart, but has now been added to the long list of Broussard songs licensed for play on hit TV series.

Yep, the indie singer is extremely successful with those.

Songs on series like Chilling Adventures of Sabrina, Lucifer (many times), Station 19, Grey’s Anatomy, Charmed, Riverdale, Magnum P.I., The Resident, Ginny & Georgia, Nancy Drew, Famous in Love and a slew of other TV shows.

Broussard has also recorded various cover songs that have received a lot of attention in recent years, including a cover of Goo Goo Dolls’ ‘Iris‘ and one of Nina Simone’s ‘Don’t Let Me Be Understand‘.

Listen to Valerie Broussard’s ‘Killer‘ as heard on the fourth season of YOU in the song’s music video, and on the Spotify player.

You can hear more songs from the latest season of YOU on Leo Sigh, and watch the first five episodes of the thriller on Netflix.
