Well, color me thrilled to hear a couple of indie rock band Ween songs show up on the soundtrack of Superman & Lois last night — Superman & Lois, Season 2, Episode 15, “Waiting for Superman“.
Including this one — Ween’s ‘Transdermal Celebration‘ — which was played on the episode as Smallville is celebrating ‘Miracle Day’. (The other song was Ween’s ‘Bananas and Blow‘, which briefly played as Tal-Rho is in the Smallville bar towards the end of the episode).
The song is one of several Ween tracks that have played on Superman & Lois this season.
Ween’s ‘Transmerdal Celebration‘ is the second single from the American band’s eighth studio album Quebec.
The mellow, upbeat rock song didn’t originally have an animated music video until Australian filmmaker Adam Phillips took a couple of weeks off work and created a video for his own pleasure.
Ween loved it so much, they made it the official music video.
As for Ween’s Quebec album, the 15-track album was released in 2003 and charted at #81 on the Billboard 200 chart.
Listen to Ween’s ‘Transdermal Celebration‘ in the song’s music video, and on the band’s superb album Quebec.
We didn’t hear much of the song on Superman & Lois, so you really should listen to it in full. It’s so damned cool.
