Lorde Releases ‘Yellow Flicker Beat’: Sexy, Slow Dancing Number (Video)
Lorde just released her new single “Yellow Flicker Beat“, a song that’s going to be featured on the soundtrack of the upcoming The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 and, at first listening, it seems to me it definitely fits.
The 17-year-old New Zealand singer-songwriter also posted a long note on her Tumblr blog about what it’s been like playing so many back-to-back concerts, while working late into the night on “Yellow Flicker Beat” and other songs.
And, in a note at the end, she says this about the song:
now, about this song – yellow flicker beat. it’s my first offering from what i hope will be a soundtrack you love. it’s my attempt at getting inside her head, katniss’. i hope you like it.
And, actually, I do. It’s the type of slow, sexy song I’d listen to on headphones, while I’m dancing around my apartment at night with my eyes closed, and in my underwear. (Now you know what I do when I’m alone).
Listen to it below. Underwear, of course, optional.
